The South Surrey Athletic Park is conveniently located at 148th Street and 20 th Ave. This establishment has something for everyone, and will keep your family busy all year round, regardless of the season. This South Surrey Athletic Park offers facilities for soccer, football, rugby, baseball, tennis and volleyball. The playground and splash pad are a favorite destination for younger kids during the summer time. During the winter, the slopes in the south portion of the park are perfect for tobogganing. South Surrey Area, home to the Surrey Eagles, is also located within the same complex.

The South Surrey Youth Centre is a favourite hang-out for the youth and teens in Sunnyside Park. The youth lounge has a pool table, foosball, video games and a gym for sports. They have various drop-in times throughout the week to appeal to the different age groups. Evening events include a Girl’s Night Out, DJ Demo night and monthly dances.

The residents of Sunnyside Park have the benefit of living within a close proximity to the beautiful Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest. This 130 hectare park was designated by the city as an urban forest in 1988. There is a 4km walking trail where you can catch a glimpse of birds, coyotes, and even the occasional black-tailed deer. A rare breed of orchid known as the Rattlesnake Plantain grows within this wooded area.
