Life in Tsawwassen

Tsawwassen is a primarily residential community located on a peninsula in the southwest corner of Delta.  It is unofficially known as “South Delta”.  The BC Ferries Tsawwassen Terminal provides passenger and motor vehicle access to Vancouver Island.  This area of Delta is also home to the Tsawwassen Indian Reserve.  The First Nation’s people have begun construction on what will be one of BC’s largest shopping malls.  It is scheduled for completion in 2016.

One of the best places to enjoy the BC coast is at Centennial Beach, otherwise known as Boundary Bay Regional Park, located in Tsawwassen.  This beach spans several kilometers and is perfect for swimming with kids.  When the tide goes out, you can walk far out into the warm, shallow water.  Visitors to the beach enjoy flying kites, bird watching and hiking along the shores of Boundary Bay.

Because Tsawwassen is surrounded by water on both sides, many of the residential streets are within a convenient walking distance to the shore.  There are a handful of low rise condo buildings to choose from, but the majority of the available real estate in Tsawwassen are beautiful detached homes.  The older homes may need a little TLC, but their reasonable asking prices makes the renovations worthwhile.
