Visiting Pacific Douglas

The Peace Arch Provincial Park is located on the southwestern side of the Pacific Douglas community. The iconic white Peace Arch sits in the park directly on the Canada/US Border. This backdrop is a popular location for newlyweds to take their wedding pictures. According to the history books, the arch is the world’s first known monument to peace. On the Canadian side, it is inscribed with the words “Brethren Dwelling Together in Unity”. On the American side, it says “Children of a Common Mother”.

There are several new subdivisions in Pacific Douglas that have been built over the last five years. One of the newest developments is called Summerfield Homes by Cressey Developments. Although the subdivision sold out a few years ago, some of the homes are now available for resale. These unique craftsman style homes are perfect for the growing family. Many of the houses feature an open concept floor plan and modern finishes.

Since the Pacific Douglas area is still relatively undeveloped, residents usually drive to White Rock and some of the other neighbouring communities within South Surrey to access shopping and amenities. The closest major shopping centres are the Shops are Morgan Crossing and the Semiahmoo Shopping Centre. Plans for more commercial developments are in the works.
